Self-Care Tips for Busy Mamas
If you’re a mama from a hectic household filled with active kids, you probably don’t get to relax and spend time doing what you like fully and enjoy that often. We often hear that busy life gets in the way or that mamas are dedicated to their kids so much they forget about looking after their needs and wants.
Self-care is essential, and many mums understand it, but it’s not as easy or straightforward as it sounds. With a little effort and planning, though, you can enjoy regular days for yourself and do what your soul desires. Just remember that a mama taking care of herself will have more love to give to her family.
Below we created a list of self-care tips for busy mamas:
Get a massage. We know it might sound like a luxury, but a regular massage will recharge your batteries and rejuvenate your soul. Taking an hour out of your day and finally getting that relaxing massage you’ve been thinking about will be worth the money spent.
Join a yoga class. This is another excellent way to stretch, relax and enjoy deep breathing. You don’t need to feel guilty that you don’t do this every week. If you can do it now and then, the benefit is enormous.
Unplug, make a cocktail (or mocktail) and sit in the sun to enjoy it while reading a book/magazine. This is guaranteed to give you an hour of peace. Get away from the busyness of life by switching off, unplugging and enjoying a favourite book or an article.
Put your favourite music on and write in a journal. Journaling is a great way to express your emotions, take time to think and dream. If you haven’t done this before, starting one could be a fun way of spending your “me time” regularly.
